History of the Manor

The Manoir de la Boulaie is located in Haute-Goulaine, around ten minutes from Nantes. This residence full of character is set within a park of more than one hectare and offers nearly 600 m² of fully renovated rooms and lounges.

1639 - 1824
For more than twenty years, the Manoir de la Boulaie was a landmark of fine dining, led by chef Laurent Saudeau and Barbara Saudeau.
Praised by the guides as a « superb residence full of character » nestled in a verdant setting, their restaurant left its mark on the culinary scene of the Nantes region.
Closure and transition
1824 - 1891
In 2020, the restaurant at the Manoir de la Boulaie did not reopen after the first lockdown. The venue then remained closed and was put up for sale.
This period closed the gastronomic chapter and paved the way for a new vocation.

Two years of revival
After two years of complete renovation, the Manoir de la Boulaie was reborn in 2025, paying tribute to Laurent and Barbara Saudeau for the major role they played in the venue's history.
The manor is now dedicated to weddings, seminars and private or professional events.

Après une renaissance en 2020 avec l'ouverture du restaurant gastronomique "Le 1825" dans l'Orangerie, le Manoir de la Boulaie appartient depuis 2025 au Groupe Riou - Lieux d'Exception.
Le domaine se consacre désormais aux événements professionnels et aux mariages d'exception, offrant un cadre prestigieux chargé d'histoire au cœur de la nature.
