History of the Manor

A residence of character at the gateway to Nantes

From fine dining to an events revival: the story of an exceptional venue in Haute-Goulaine

The Manoir de la Boulaie is located in Haute-Goulaine, about ten minutes from Nantes. This residence of character is set within grounds of 3.5 hectares and offers nearly 800 m² of fully renovated rooms and lounges.

A landmark of fine dining

1639 - 1824

For more than twenty years, the Manoir de la Boulaie was a landmark of fine dining, led by chef Laurent Saudeau and Barbara Saudeau.

Praised by guidebooks as a “superb residence of character” nestled in a verdant setting, their restaurant left its mark on the culinary scene of the Nantes region.

Closure and transition

1824 - 1891

In 2020, the restaurant of the Manoir de la Boulaie did not reopen its doors after the first lockdown. The venue then remained closed and was put up for sale.

This period closed the gastronomic chapter and paved the way for a new vocation.
